About the artists
drums
Philadelphia-born drummer and composer Ari Hoenig treats the drum kit as a melodic voice, not just a timekeeper. Now based in Brooklyn, he leads his own trios and quartets, has played with Kenny Werner and Tigran Hamasyan, and teaches at NYU and The New School.
bass
In-demand bassist, in New York since 1994, known for supportive, lyrical playing. He has worked with Mark Turner, Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Brad Mehldau and Anat Cohen, appears on over 100 records, and leads a quartet heard on albums like Étoilée.
