About the artists
piano, keyboards
Argentine pianist and keyboardist Leo Genovese plays exuberant, genre-hopping music that moves between jazz, free improvisation and psychedelic rock. A longtime collaborator of Esperanza Spalding, he also played in a quartet with Wayne Shorter and has recorded with The Mars Volta.
tenor saxophone
Cleveland-born tenor saxophonist who learned jazz from his saxophonist father and went on to Woody Herman's band, Paul Motian's trio with Bill Frisell, and a long run on Blue Note. A Grammy winner with a big, warm sound, he leads a nonet of tenor greats here.
