About the artists
drums
Washington, D.C.-born drummer whose long career runs from Shirley Horn's band to Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi sextet and Stan Getz. A revered teacher, he leads a long-running quartet with Mark Turner, Ethan Iverson and Ben Street, whose ECM album Just came out in 2025.
New album: Just ↗ · Feb 2025
piano
Pianist, composer and writer Ethan Iverson first drew wide notice as a founding member of the adventurous trio The Bad Plus. His own music mixes deep jazz tradition with wit and modern harmony, heard on Blue Note albums such as Every Note Is True with Larry Grenadier and Jack DeJohnette.
