About the artist
piano
Pianist Pete Malinverni plays warm, nuanced straight-ahead jazz shaped by years as a church musician at a Brooklyn Baptist congregation, which also inspired his jazz-and-choir suites. He has performed with Joe Lovano, Clark Terry and Jimmy Cobb, and teaches jazz at SUNY Purchase.
