About the artist
trumpet, flugelhorn
Texas-born trumpeter Roy Hargrove played fiery, soulful hard bop and also crossed into neo-soul and hip-hop with his band the RH Factor and on D'Angelo's Voodoo. Discovered as a teen by Wynton Marsalis, he led the Roy Hargrove Big Band, heard on the album Emergence.
