Benny Green Trio

New York-born, Berkeley-raised pianist with a joyful, hard-swinging touch in the tradition of Bud Powell and Oscar Peterson. He came up with Betty Carter and Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, played in Ray Brown's trio, and has led his own trio since 1991; his latest album is Renovation.

Philadelphia-raised bassist who grew up in a musical household and came up on the city's bandstands before moving to New York in 2011. He studied with Ron Carter and Barry Harris, has worked with Wallace Roney, Russell Malone and Louis Hayes, and leads swinging, groove-forward bands of his own.
