About the artist
drums, composer
Drummer, multi-instrumentalist and composer Tyshawn Sorey moves freely between avant-garde jazz and contemporary classical music, often in slow, spacious, searching pieces. A MacArthur Fellow, he won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Music for Adagio (for Wadada Leo Smith).
