About the artist
big band
Composer Maria Schneider leads one of jazz's most acclaimed big bands, writing lush, cinematic music shaped by her years assisting Gil Evans. Her orchestra grew out of a weekly residency at Visiones in Greenwich Village, and albums like Concert in the Garden and Data Lords won Grammys.
