Camden, New Jersey's Buster Williams is a bass giant whose deep, singing tone anchored Herbie Hancock's adventurous Mwandishi sextet and the Monk-focused quartet Sphere. He has backed singers like Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson, and his recent albums Audacity and Unalome appear on Smoke Sessions.
