About the artists
trumpet, vocals
Pittsburgh's Benny Benack III is a trumpeter and crooner with a playful, swinging style, the third in a family line of jazz musicians. He has been an emcee for Postmodern Jukebox, a regular on Emmet's Place, and recorded with Christian McBride on A Lot of Livin' to Do.
piano
Houston-born pianist and composer who trained classically before discovering jazz and joining the first class of the Thelonious Monk Institute. She has played with Clark Terry, Wayne Shorter and Ron Carter, and her big band album Oracles (Sunnyside, 2026) salutes those mentors.
