Guitarist Mark Whitfield plays soulful, blues-rich jazz in the tradition of his mentor George Benson. Hailed early on by The New York Times, he has worked with Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey and Herbie Hancock and is a longtime collaborator of bassist Christian McBride.

Italian-born guitarist Pasquale Grasso plays dazzling bebop, translating the piano language of Bud Powell to the guitar, often solo. A protégé of Barry Harris, he has a solo-guitar series on Sony Masterworks and won the 2015 Wes Montgomery International Jazz Guitar Competition.
