Saxophonist Craig Handy came up with Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Abdullah Ibrahim and the Mingus Dynasty band, and has since played with Herbie Hancock, Cedar Walton, Wynton Marsalis and The Cookers. His band 2nd Line Smith reimagines organist Jimmy Smith's music with a New Orleans second-line strut.
