Sheila Jordan
Detroit-born singer Sheila Jordan was a bebop original, famed for inventive scat, improvised lyrics and intimate duets with only upright bass. Charlie Parker called her the singer with "million dollar ears," and her 1963 Blue Note debut Portrait of Sheila is a classic; she was an NEA Jazz Master.
